Joseph John Palko, 85, of Hadley Park Way in Arden, passed away on Tuesday, February 24, 2009 in the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois and was the son of the late John and Zuzanna Zacko Palko. He was a US Army Air Force Veteran serving during WW II and worked for International Telephone and Telegraph for 40 years.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Patsy Ann Free Palko; a son and daughter in law, John Palko and Lauri of Arden; two grandchildren, Jacob and Sarah Palko.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Francis of Assisi in Raleigh, NC.
The family will receive friends following the service on Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hearts with Hands, PO Box 6444, Asheville, NC 28816.

Pat you don’t know how sorry I am to hear about Joe. I never met him but I know he was a wonderful man. I know we don’t talk but I think of you everyday & love you. Wish I could be their to give you a big hug.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Palko. He was a great man and will be greatly missed! I’m sure Toro will welcome him with open paws! :=) May they both rest in peace.
