Fletcher ~ Primitiva Fernandez Mamaclay, 89, of Fletcher, died Monday, January 5, 2009 at John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center.
A native of the Philippines, she was the daughter of the late Pedro and Enriqueta Galapon Fernandez. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Mamaclay, Sr., who died in 1998. She was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church.
Primitiva is survived by four daughters, Leonila Villacorte of Houston, TX, Enriqueta Ita and her husband, Ray, of Charleston, SC, Lourdes Fontillas and her husband, Wilson, of Fletcher and Carmela Pineda and her husband, Edwin, of Victoria, AU; two sons, Benjamin Mamaclay, Jr. of the Philippines and Aniceto Mamaclay, Sr. and his wife, Alicia, of Victoria, AU; two sisters, Erlina Fernandez and Remedios Fernandez, both of the Philippines; fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at St. Barnabas Catholic Church with Father Adrian Porras officiating.
Interment will follow at New Salem Cemetery.
A prayer service will be said at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with a visitation following until 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 109 Crescent Hill Drive, Arden, NC 28704.
