Jean Elizabeth Howard

Jean Vogt Howard Asheville – Jean Elizabeth Vogt Howard, 85, died Sunday, December 14, 2008. A native of Flint, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Anton and Lela Harris Vogt and wife of the late Frank Gilbert Howard, who died in 1979. She was a member of Arden Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Howard is survived by two daughters, Martha Linsley and her husband, Tom, of Weaverville and Mary Carter and her husband, Jeff, of Arden; son, Bruce Howard and wife, Donna, of Swannanoa and two grandchildren, Amanda and Laura Linsley. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian conducted by the Rev. Ed Graham . The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Private interment was held at Shepherd Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to CarePartners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813 or to the Mission Foundation, PO Box 5363, Asheville, NC 28813. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
