Bonnie Clark Jarvis Pettit

Bonnie Clark Jarvis Pettit, 98, of Fletcher, died Thursday, June 26, 2008, at Universal Health Care. A native of the Spring Creek section of Madison County, she was a daughter of the late Noah and Artha Smith Clark. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer M. Pettit, Sr., who died in 1993, a son-in-law, Bud Youngblood, three siblings and one grandson. Mrs. Pettit lived most of her life in Buncombe County. She was retired from American Enka and was the oldest member of Victory Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Youngblood of Fletcher, Joan Calvin and her husband Earl of Asheville; a son, Clark Jarvis and his wife Polly of Asheville; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Saturday at Green Hills Cemetery with the Reverend Larry Sprinkle officiating.
