Velma Christine Sloan Elam, 68, of 200 Tunnel Road, Asheville, died Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at Park Ridge Hospital.
A native of Kingsport, TN, she was a daughter of the late John and Ruth Salyer Sloan and was also preceded in death by a brother, Wallace Salyer. She worked as a housekeeper for the City of Asheville.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Johnson and Barbie Elam of Asheville and Debra Moore of Canton; a son, Johnny Elam of Asheville; a sister, Gracie Edwards of White Pine, TN and a brother, Harold Salyer.
