Fletcher ~ Lucille Johnston Heffner, 89, of Beystone Health Care Center, died on Wednesday, May 21, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Erwin Johnston, Sr. and Edith Ruth Moore Johnston. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Lee Heffner; two brothers, S.E. and Neil Johnston. She was a former employee of American Enka. More recently, she was a member of the Mills River Methodist Church and active with the Farm Bureau and the Order Of the Eastern Star. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who spent most of her time caring for her family. She is survived by two daughters, Bonnie Stewart and husband Ted of Mills River and Elaine Gosnell and husband Ronnie of Leicester; a son, Tom Heffner and wife Frances of Joanna, SC; three grandchildren, Jenny Strasser of Chapel Hill, TN and Stephanie and Michael Gosnell; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Roberts of Avery's Creek. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday at the Mills River United Meth-odist Church with the Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mills River United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 137 Old Turnpike Road, Mills River, NC 28759 or Four Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, P.O. Box 2395, Hendersonville, NC 28793.

She always had a smile on her face as she spent her time taking care of her family that she cared for so much. When Greg would pick up Joe Lee for Soil & Water mtgs. she would always come to the door & share stories of her family.
