Dalton Gregg Varnum, 56, of Leicester, died Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Memorial Campus Mission Hospitals.
A native of Mecklenburg Co., Mr. Dalton was a son of the late L.C. Varnum and Helen Wiggins McElreath.
Mr. Varnum is survived by his step-father, Paul J. McElreath, of Leicester; aunt, Frances Huffman, of Gastonia; and uncle, Carson Wiggins, of Burlington.
A graveside service for Mr. Varnum will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Newfound Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Phillips officiating.
There will also be a memorial service for Mr. Varnum at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the
Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit, 433 Bone Camp Rd., in Mars Hill.
