Lemar R. Rash

Lemar Ray “Lee” Rash, 83, of 220 Jonestown Road, Asheville, went to be with his Lord Monday, June 2, 2003. Mr. Rash was a native of Buncombe County and was a son of the late Carries and Addie Foster Rash. He was preceded in death by sisters Naomi Martin and Ruth Cash and brothers Tommy, L.G. and Juby Rash. He was a member of Cedar Hill Baptist Church, Alexander, and his life was made up of his church, family and friends and he loved being outdoors. He is survived by three brothers, Calvin, Dois and Verlon Rash, all of Asheville, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 6:00 pm Wednesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Lewis Melton officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 pm Thursday at Cedar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. His nephews will be pallbearers. His family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening following the service. Lee was an angel on this earth and everyone who knew him loved him. He will be greatly missed by all. A special thanks to the nurses and doctors at Mission Hospital who took care of Lee.
