Larry C. Henderson

Larry C. Henderson, 71, of Asheville, died Friday, August 17, 2007, at the VA Medical Center. Mr. Henderson was born in Asheville and was a son of the late Theodore C. Lawing and Kay Shipman Lawing Henderson. He served as a Drill Instructor with the US Marine Corps from 1953 to 1968, coming out as a sergeant. He was a retired mechanic and was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Betty Henson Henderson and a daughter, Debbie Carter. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm. Tuesday at West Asheville Baptist Church with the Revs. Stanley J. Welch, Tony Hooper and Darren Browning officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
