Edith Nesbitt Marlow, 90, of 748 Morgan Hill Road, Fairview, died Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center. Mrs. Marlow was born in McDowell County and was a daughter of the late Roy Wayne and Dora Morgan Nesbitt. She was married for 68 years to Thomas Benjamin Marlow, who died January 19, 2006. She was also preceded in death by two infant sons, a sister, Irene Lytle, and a brother, Garland Nesbitt. Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn Waddell and her husband, Bill, of Prospect, KY, and Ann Horne of Arden; one son, Richard Marlowe and his wife, Rosemary, of Lenoir; four grandchildren, Brian Marlowe and his wife, Jamie, of Winston-Salem, Lorrie Greene and her husband, Jim, of Raleigh, Toni Shope of Charlotte, and Shannon Shope of Sylva; four great-grandchildren, Jake and Emily Marlowe and Matthew and Zachary Greene; four sisters, Beatrice Marlow, Dorothy Grant, Martha Marlow, and Virginia Lytle; and one brother, Guy Nesbitt. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Nesbitt’s Chapel United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Revs. Michael Harrill, Jr., Avery Owenby, and James Lee officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
