Sally cared deeply for Pathways - Life after Cancer, serving on the Board of Directors. She also served on the Board of Caring for Children, was a sustainer in the Junior League of Asheville, and was a member of the Children?s Welfare League.
In addition to Sally's charitable involvement, she was a founding partner of Collector's Carousel, Inc., and served on the board of First Citizens Bank.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Reverend Pete Peery and are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2007 at the First Presbyterian Church in Asheville. Burial will follow at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard in Fletcher.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in Sally's name to Pathways - Life after Cancer, 121 Sherwood Road, Asheville, NC 28803 or the Joseph M. Still Burn Center, 3651 Wheeler Road, Augusta, GA 30909.

Your loved one has left this world
And has taken that Heavenly flight
It’s supper-time there in Heaven
Where there’s no parting nor night.
It was difficult to say ‘good-bye’
To the one you loved so very much
Trust in God and His divine plan
We hope you feel His gentle touch.
We pray God will Comfort you
And send Angels from above
Giving sweet peace within your heart
Surrounding you with Eternal Love.
We are sorry for your deep loss
There’s so little we can find to say
You are in our thoughts and prayers
As we grieve with you today.
With Our Heartfelt Sympathy

Mr. Sword, Taylor, Spencer and Family-
Mom and Dad called me and told me of you Mother’s passing. I was so sorry to hear of your loss, I know that she will be missed dearly.
I remember Mrs. Sword for the times she was always so sweet when we were playing at the park near your house (and what we thought was so far from ours!) and she never thought twice about letting us come in for a snack or to use the bathroom, she was always so accomodating to us no matter if we were covered in dirt or soaked from the rain, it didn’t matter, she let us in mud and all! Thank you for sharing your home and Mother with me, I will remember her for her peppy personality and gracious character.
My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of loss.
Bill and family, So sorry to hear of your loss and personally know of your and their grief having just lost our second son to an MI. Please accept our deepest sympathy and may God be with each of you as you try to survive this period of grief and sorrow. In God’s Grace,Bob and Judy Virnelson ( Judy Patton at LHEHS)
