Fletcher ~ Mary Seminara DeCarlo, 87, of Clover Drive, Fletcher died on Monday, March 12, 2007 in Elizabeth House Hospice. She was born in Syracuse, NY and was the daughter of the late Charles Seminara and Rosario Demauro Seminara. Mary was preceded in death by her grandson, Stephen McFadden, who died in 2005. She was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Thomas DeCarlo of Fletcher; a daughter, Carol Jean Wilson and husband Larry of Fletcher, two sons, Frank Guy DeCarlo and wife Heather of St. Cloud, FL and James Franklin Dixon and wife Shirley of Goldsboro, NC; eight grandchildren, Cliff Dixon of Miami, FL, Joey Baldwin of Fletcher, T.J. Baldwin and wife Leigh Ann of Raleigh, Tony and Erin DeCarlo of Orlando and Chadwick Holcomb, Janelle Holcomb and Calen Holcomb and a sister, Ruth Caruth of Syracuse, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Thursday at St. Barnabas Catholic Church with Father Dean Cesa and Deacon Art Kingsley officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Episcopal Churchyard. A Rosary will be said at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road with the family receiving friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elizabeth House Hospice, 581 S. Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.

    Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time of loss. I still remember eating Mrs. DeCarlo’s fantastic cooking, that she sent to school with Frank. Also, the few times that I met her she treated me like one of her own kids. She was truly a fine lady and the world will miss her.

    I’m so sorry to here about Mrs. DeCarlo. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. She was a neat, caring and spunky woman and I will cherish the time I spent in Miami with her and the whole family forever.
