Lucy Mehaffey Allison

Lucy Mehaffey Allison, 89, formerly of Case Cove Road, Candler, died Wednesday, January 24, 2007, at Pisgah Manor Nursing Center. Mrs. Allison was born in Haywood County and was a daughter of the late Fred and Gertie Mehaffey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Franklin Allison and by a sister, Bonnie Roane and a brother, Jack Mehaffey. Mrs. Allison worked at American Enka for 33 years before retiring as a supervisor in the Rayon Dept. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of Enka Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Frank Allison of Anderson, SC and Jerry Allison and his wife, Sandra, of Kernersville; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Enka Baptist Church with the Rev. G. Scott Lynch officiating. Burial will be at Pisgah View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
