Robert W. “Bob” Jarvis, 94, of Franklin, formerly of Asheville, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, December 31, 2006.
He was a son of the late Carl and Eliza Rutledge Jarvis, attended Prentiss Baptist Church in Franklin and was the owner of Jarvis Gulf Station. Mr. Jarvis was an avid fisherman and member of West Asheville Business Association for many years.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Henrietta Fisher Jarvis who passed away in February 2006; three brothers and one sister.
Surviving are two sons, Ralph N. Jarvis and wife Marge of St. Petersburg, FL and Ray H. Jarvis and wife Mary of Greensboro; three daughters, Ann Millington of Hendersonville, Linda Brinkley and husband Phil of Asheville and Loretta Sanders of Franklin; two brothers, Leland Jarvis of Fort Myers, FL and Jack Jarvis of Asheville; two sisters, Cornelia Griffin and Mary Stewart both of Asheville; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
A funeral service will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, January 3, 2006 in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue with Rev. Randy Drennon and Dr. James H. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park Mausoleum.
His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

I worked for Bob from the time I was 14 until 17 and he was one of the few who truly loved and lived for the Lord daily.He will be greatly missed by all he ever touched. I know I will never forget the life lessons I learned. God Bless the family.
