Alexander Mont Jones

Alexander “Mont” Jones, 92, of 193 Jones Rd., Leicester, died Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at his residence. Mr. Jones was born in Buncombe Co. and was a son of the late B. Franklyn and Vianna Waltroup Jones. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Conrad Jones, who died in October of this year, three brothers, Wayne, Charlie, and Paul Jones; and one sister, Blanche Jones. Mr. Jones loved farming, his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Carpenters Union for over 50 years. He was a member of Bell United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Ella Mae Sluder Jones; daughter-in-law, Betty Jones of Leicester; sister, Fina Whitner of Leicester; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Bell United Methodist Church with the Revs. George Davis and Enoch Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. His family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Friday at 11 Robbe Rd., Leicester.
