Marjorie McCorkle Corson

Marjorie McCorkle Corson, 82, of Old US 19-23 Highway, Candler, died Wednesday, December 13, 2006, at Memorial Campus, Mission Hospitals. A native of Idaho, she had lived in North Carolina since 1974. She was the daughter of the late Lafayette and Carrie McCorkle and the wife of Don Corson, who died in 1989. Mrs. McCorkle was a former resident of Portland, CT, where she was employed by Standard-Knapp. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Hot Springs and recently attended Ridgeway Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Lucinda Corson Nylen of New Jersey; a brother, Stanley McCorkle of Arizona; and two grandchildren, Adam Nylen and Laurel Nylen Rabender. A celebration of her life will be observed at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 18, at Ridgeway Baptist Church in Candler with the Rev. Jack W. Collins officiating.
