Christine Bell Cook, 93, of 3 Bell Haven Rd., Asheville, died Saturday, October 14, 2006 at the Laurels of Summit Ridge. An Asheville native, Mrs. Cook was the daughter of the late Charles Carroll Bell and Mary Edith Brown Bell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Howard Cook; infant twin sons; an infant daughter; three brothers, Frank, Charles and Harold Bell; and one sister, Margaret Mallonee. Mrs. Cook was a descendant of one of the founding members of Bethesda United Methodist Church. She was a longtime member of Bethesda United Methodist Church where she was a former president of the United Methodist Women, a member of the Billie Shepherd Circle and the May Bell Bible Class, served on the mission committee and was a communion steward. Mrs. Cook is survived by one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Cook, of Asheville; and two sisters, Martha Addison and Polly Epley, both of Asheville, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Bethesda United Methodist Church the Revs. Wendell Brittain and Sara Scruggs officiating. Interment will follow in the church?s cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. Monday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
