Doris Gentry Jones

Doris Joann Gentry Jones, 77, of 5 Selwyn Place, died Wednesday, August 30, 2006, at the Hospice Solace Center. Mrs. Jones was born in Bridgeton, NJ, and was a daughter of the late Herman and Gladys Spivey Gentry. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wilson “Bill” Jones, by a great-grandchild, and by four sisters and a brother. She was an employee of Buck’s Restaurant for 20 years and was a member of West Asheville Baptist Church. Surviving are one daughter, Brenda Kay O’Kelley and her husband, Gary, of Borden, IN; two sons, Doug Wilson Jones and his wife, Debbie, of Asheville, and Bill Michael Jones and his wife, P.G., of Newland; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a sister, Joyce Niemic. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Dr. Bill Jones officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to the service and at other times will be at the residence.
