Arden – Louise Hinkle Dowtin, 86, of Old Shoals Road, died Friday, April 14, 2006.
A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Edd Ward Hinkle and Nancy Leola McCallester Hinkle. She was a graduate of Asheville High School and attended East Tennessee Teachers College and was a retired employee of the Buncombe County Health Department as secretary for Dr. Hamilton Stevens and Dr. James Tenney.
Mrs. Dowtin is survived by her husband, Jim Dowtin; son, Jim Dowtin, and his wife Susan, of Greensboro and two grandchildren, Morgan Dowtin, and his wife Emily, and Amanda Dowtin, of Greensboro.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Monday at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard.

I was sorry to hear of the passing of Mrs. Dowtin. I remember many years ago working at your house and how very sweet she was to me. May the Lord comfort you folks at this time.

Jim, we have been out of town for Easter and regret missing the service. Charlene and I remember Louise as such a lovely lady. We will be thinking about you, Jim, Jr. and Susan.
