Amilee was a kind, sweet, loving, and gracious lady.It was my privilege to have her as an aunt, and as my third grade teacher. She was a dedicated, concerned, and encouraging educator, loved by all her students. I always thought of her as a quintessential Southern lady of her era. She and Eugene seemed to fit together so well, and their love for each other was visible to all. She was always interested in, concerned about, and thoughtful towards me, her step-daughter Marjorie and step-grandson Charles.
She will be missed, but, as always, will be in my heart.
You and your family are in my prayers and thoughts in this time of grief. rcw

What sweet memories I have of Mrs. Sumner! She was my third grade teacher, also. The summer following third grade, I walked over to visit her in her home where she ironed, seated, using an ironer. It was the first and last one I’ve ever seen. She was so very kind and gracious. I’ve known her virtually all my life and she was and still is my favorite teacher. God rest her soul.
Dear George, Cathy & kids…
We are sure sorry about Aunt Amilee…while I know how much you will miss her, the great love you
have for her will no doubt strengthen and sustain you until
Jehovah awakes her in a fresh, new body, ready for everlasting life.
keep smiling and we love you all..Bill, Margie, Carli & Daphne sims
My favorite teacher (3rd grade) 1947-48, I never missed a day and made straight ‘A’s that year.

Sweetest Teacher I ever had 1963-64.
I remember how she cried so hard when President Kennedy was shot and also my Father passed away a few mths later. She knew my whole family and was great to all of us.
