Mabry Emma Davis, 93, of Candler, died Tuesday, December 6, 2005, at Pisgah Manor Health Care Center. Miss Davis was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Oscar R. and Maude Mann Davis. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ted Davis, Sr. and a great-granddaughter, Valerie Davis. She retired from BASF in 1978 and also served as a cook at the Pisgah View Ranch. She was a member of Davis Chapel United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Ruth Rich, five grandchildren, Kathy Fuller, Ann Letterman, Ted Davis, Jr., Charles Davis, and Ronald Davis; eight great-grandchildren, Robbie Fuller, Jeremy Letterman, Jason Davis, Justin Davis, Jill Davis, Travis Davis, Andrew Davis, and Samantha Davis; two great-great-grandchildren, Madyson Fuller and Jacob Letterman; two sisters, Myrtle Watts of Candler and Gladys Howell of West Asheville; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Austin Watts officiating. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. The family expresses sincere appreciation to the staff of Pisgah Manor Health Care Center for the loving care they gave to Miss Davis. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting with the arrangements.

  1. I am so happy that I had the time to get to know Mrs. Davis. She was one of the sweetest people I know. She always had a beautiful smile on her face. I loved her so much. She will be greatly missed. Our hearts and thoughts are with you.
