Edith Ingle Ard

Edith Ingle Ard, 88, of Leicester, died Sunday, December 4, 2005, at Magnolia Health Care Center. Mrs. Ard was born in Buncombe County and was a daughter of the late Loy and Sally Sams Ingle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ben Ard, her son James Allen Woody, her daughter, Shirley Jean Woody, a sister Pauline Ingle and two brothers Riley S. Ingle and Howard E. Ingle. She was a member of Bingham Heights Baptist Church. Surviving are a sister, Geneva Ingle Woody and her husband U.R. of Leicester; a daughter-in-law Minnie Woody of Leicester; three grandchildren, Terry Woody Meadows of Leicester, Mitchell Woody and his wife Sherri of Mills River and Belinda Woody Evans of Leicester; nine great-grandchildren, Amanda Meadows, Jonathan Meadows, Ashlee Ross, Kansas Hughes, Jamie Evans, Lindsey Evans, Kevin Woody, Samantha Woody and Justin Woody, and one great-great grandson, Trevor Ross. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Townsend officiating. Burial will be at Big Sandy United Methodist Church Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Special thanks go to all the family for the love and care given to Mrs. Ard.
