Mark Augury Michelson, age 41, died October 1, 2005 from an aortic aneurism.
Born in New York City, he was a resident of Croton-on-Hudson, NY for 31 years before moving to Western North Carolina with his parents. He was self-employed.
His passion was martial arts and he attained a black belt in Aikido. He enjoyed travel and fine music as well as meeting people.
He is survived by two loving parents, a loving brother and sister-in-law as well as a nephew and many, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services are at 10:00 AM Wednesday at Saint Barnabas Catholic Church, followed by interment at Calvary Episcopal Churchyard.
The family will receive friends at 7:00 PM on Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home in Arden.

Shocked to read when my Croton Gazette reached Florida. A real good friend growing up. A kind soul from a kind family. Mark will be missed.
Andy and I enjoyed the way Mark laughed, smiled, and generally brought joy into everyone’s life. He helped both of us with Aikido and was so good with the children. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
So sad to find this.
Mark was a great Friend of the Gerhardt family.
