Fanneta Caldwell Taylor, 95, of 1111 McPherson Road, Burlington, formerly of the Mile Straight, Candler, died Friday, July 29, 2005, in Burlington. Mrs. Taylor was born in Haywood County and was a daughter of the late David Alden and Margaret Rathbone Caldwell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy A. Taylor, who died in 1975, and by three brothers, Brown, Reece and Ken Caldwell. She was a member of Hominy Baptist Church. Surviving are three daughters, Margaret Penland and her husband Bruce of Columbia, SC, Sarah Williams and her husband Bob of Providence, NC and Brenda Beam and her husband Wayne of Burlington; two sons, Bill Taylor and his wife Patti of Asheville and Jim Taylor and his wife Susan of Pensacola, FL; eight beloved grandchildren, Rick Taylor of Pensacola, FL, Victor Taylor of Asheville, Lee Arnold of Danville, VA. Philip Penland and Douglas Penland of Columbia, SC, Allen Taylor of Pensacola, FL, Jonathan Beam of Raleigh and Sara Hawthorne of San Diego, CA; ten great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Pearl Allen, Phoebe Hartness, Genelle Burnette, Faye Smith and Valerie Bissell. A funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Ridgeway Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack W. Collins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service and suggest that memorials be made to Ridgeway Baptist Church, 525 Old Highway 19-23, Candler, NC 28715.
