Vera Mae Robinson

Vera Mae McCall Robinson, 92, of Candler, passed away on October 18, 2026. She was sheltered in the arms of God as she completed her journey.

She was the daughter of the late Lloyd Herman and Mildred Hutchison McCall. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Frank Howell Robinson, and her sister, Rubye McCall Smith.

She lovingly persisted, and is survived by two sons, Michael Lloyd Robinson (Teresa Sumpter) and Timothy Howell Robinson. She took pride in her grandchildren, Maj. Christopher A. Robinson, USMC, Ret. (Katrina), Brandon A. Robinson (Heather), Chicory B. Poppinoff (Andrea), and great-granddaughter, Madelyn Grace. In her last years she claimed and was blessed by three additional grandchildren, Chantal, Melody and David. She cherished the unconditional love of grand-dog, JuneBugg.

Frank and Vera courted on the piano bench. They instilled in their sons their love of music, always encouraging and supporting the sons’ pursuits. Frank and Vera were members of Snow Hill United Methodist Church. She will be interred beside her loving husband in the Snow Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. Having treasured many bouquets and graces in life, in lieu of memorials or flowers Vera would wish to encourage simple, random acts of kindness in her memory. She was as omniscient as a mother or grandmother might be. She will likely be watching and thus be pleased as we pay blessings forward.

I Cor., 13:12 (NIV), “For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.”

The graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2027, at Snow Hill United Methodist Cemetery, 84 Snow Hill Church Road, Candler, NC. The Rev. Tom Hunter will officiate.
