Shirley Ann Clark Wilson

Shirley Ann Clark Wilson, 87, of Asheville, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2026.

A native of Buncombe Co, Shirley was a daughter of the late William and Violet Lyerly Clark. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry C. Wilson, a brother, Bill H. Clark, and a sister, Dorothy M. Clark.

Surviving are her sons, Larry Wilson (Lena) of Lake Junaluska, NC and Mike Wilson of Asheville NC; one grandchild, Hannah Barker (Kyle) of Fletcher, NC; a step grandchild, Karalee Corbeil; two great-grandchildren, Rhett Barker and Lilly Barker; and her brother, Jim Clark (Judy) of Candler, NC.

Born in Asheville, NC, Shirley was active in her Erwin Hills Community and worked in the banking industry where she retired as Manager of Arcade Credit Union. Shirley was the Treasurer of the West Buncombe Fire Department for many years. She was always working on projects whether it was creating beautiful flower arrangements or redecorating her home.

Shirley was an exceptional cook and had a warm heart, and a fierce devotion to those she loved. She was a member of Emmanual Lutheran Church in Asheville, NC. Her greatest pride and joy in life was her family.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Fleshers of Fairview for the great care she received during her time there.

A graveside service will be held at Lewis Memorial Park on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.
