In loving memory of Edward R. Stackhouse

August 9, 1973 – August 5, 2026
Edward R. Stackhouse of Asheville was welcomed into the arms of his Savior August 5, 2026. He was the loving husband of Mindy (nee Bender) Stackhouse, devoted father to Christopher (Micheala) Stackhouse, Rebecca (Michael) Bergman, and Rachel Stackhouse, grandfather of Aurora, Asher, and Timothy, and loving son of the late Dianna Rawlinson. He is survived by many family members and friends.

Ed was a larger-than-life person who loved making everyone laugh, gem mining, playing poker, Star Trek, and the Beach Boys. He always thought of others before himself and believed in making memories and sharing experiences rather than gifting items. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.

A visitation for relatives and friends will be held at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave, on Friday August 14, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 4:00 p.m. Internment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations to help the family cover final medical expenses can be made at Ed’s GoFundMe.

Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. is assisting the family.

  1. Ed truly was larger than life, brought people together and had a strong sense of community.
He seized so many different opportunities and took chances quite a few of us wouldnt have.
Above all he loved God, his wife Mindy, his family, and his friends and will be missed by all of us.

  2. My Sincere Condolences to the whole Family. It was always a special moment when the family came to Sonny’s and I had the pleasure of Waiting on them . Sending my Love πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

  3. I’m so sorry to hear of Ed’s passing. I worked with him at RaterLabs and was in the AWU him. It was an honor working with him. I know he loved his family so very much and talked about you all frequently. He made an impact on so many lives. My prayers are with you all.

  4. A man full of love. You will be missed by many.
    Your family is heartbroken.
Their faith πŸ™ will carry them forward until they see you again.
    May God bless πŸ™Œ πŸ™ ✨️ ❀️

  5. My heart breaks for you guys. Ed was one of the kindest people I have ever met. I will never forget when we were collecting supplies and donations for a relief trip when Hurricane Michael hit the Panhandle and messaged me that he’d raised some money for our cause and was sending it over. He was always a great big hug and a warm and genuine hello and he loved his family in a way that people should strive to be like. I look fondly back at the great times we all spent together. We are so sorry and send all our love.
