Joann Louise Rinaggio

Joann Louise Rinaggio, age 86, of Hendersonville, went to be with our Lord in Heaven on Thursday June 25, 2026. Joann was born May 4,1940 in Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Vito Rinaggio and grandson Jonathan Torres.

Joann retired from Craggy Correctional Facility in 1998, where she served a nurse. She loved sewing, dancing, Bingo, gardening and cats. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Surviving are her daughter Sandy Torres; son Troy Smith (Bridgette); grandchildren, Bobby Torres Jr, Elizabeth Torres, Rachel Torres, Christopher Smith, Jeremy Smith and Nathan Smith; step-daughters, Melissa Lanning (Jody) and Tracy Fisher (Barry); step-son Stephen Rinaggio (Ashley) and three great-grandchildren along with several step-grandchildren and extended family.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 1 2026, at Ashelawn Gardens, 901 Aiken Rd in Asheville.

Groce Funeral Home’s Lake Julian team is assisting the family.
