Patricia Bryant Hutson

Patricia Bryant Hutson, 85, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026.

A native of Red Springs, NC, Patricia was the daughter of the late Earl and Opal Ausley Bryant. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Gilbert Hutson, Sr.; son, Jeffrey Bryant Hutson; and brothers, Michael Bryant and Gary Richard Bryant.

Mrs. Hutson retired from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. She will be remembered as a woman of strong faith, a lover of Duke Blue Devils basketball, and as a mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother who showed up to support her family and those whom she loved.

She is survived by her son, Art Hutson, Jr. (Lorrie); grandchildren, Lorrie Ellen Campbell, Catie Hutson, Megan Prestridge, Zachary Hutson, and Ryan Hutson; great-grandchildren, Alex, Jack, Kara, Teddy and Julian; brothers, Ronnie Bryant, Randy Bryant, and Kim Bryant; sister-in-law, Linda Bryant; and daughter-in-law, Jill Baker Hutson.

Her family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 14, at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Charlie Sams officiating. Burial will then take place at Lewis Memorial Park.
