Sharon (Shari) Bresson Robbins
August 30, 1960 ~ January 6, 2026
Born in:
Fairfield County , Connecticut
Resided in:
Fletcher, North Carolina
Sharon (Shari) Bresson Robbins entered into heaven unexpectedly, but peacefully on January 6, 2026. She was born in Fairfield County, Connecticut to Harold and Viola (Page) Bresson.
She married her husband David (Dave) Robbins on June 23, 1984 in Newtown, Connecticut. She is survived by her husband of 42 years Dave, sisters Sandra Mcllvain, Anne Shute, Paula Stewart and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Shari enjoyed a 23 year career in the Insurance Industry before stepping away to meet the increasing challenges of Breast Cancer. As a longtime member of the Biltmore Church family, she served her Lord with gladness playing the flute in the orchestra, leading the Women’s Ministry, going on international mission trips, teaching Sunday School, participating in the Quilt Ministry, volunteering in the Foster Care Ministry, serving as a Crisis Caregiver in the Stephen Ministry, and led a home Bible Study and prayer group called the God Girls.
While facing the daily challenge to transform her fear into courage, Shari had a fun loving sense of humor, warm and caring nature, and a passion for creativity. Her handmade gifts, quilts and other keepsakes were works of art. Special memories were made in times of intercessory prayer and walking alongside others in their deepest valleys. Her thirst for understanding God’s Word fueled her soul. She lived with an enthusiasm for tending to her rose garden and flowers, honoring veterans with Quilts-of-Valor and caring for her backyard birdies. In addition to Dave, the love of her life was her adorable fur-baby named Ashley…affectionately known as her “Healer Kitty”, a blessing from God.
Shari will be remembered for her unwavering faith, servant leadership and courage in the midst of her journey. Her devotion to family and friends was inspirational and every day was filled with a spirit of Thanksgiving for her Lord’s grace, mercy and goodness.
A celebration of Shari’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 28 in the Chapel of Groce Funeral Home’s Lake Julian location on Long Shoals Road in Arden. Aunt Shari was truly a wonderful soul. I feel so incredibly grateful for the time we spent together in North Carolina; the conversations we shared and the beauty of your home state are memories I will always hold dear. We love you and miss you dearly. 😔
I am so sorry about Sharon! She was a wonderful special lady! She will be missed greatly! My prayers are with you and your family! May God give you comfort and peace! God bless you!
Forever in our hearts.
Sharon, my dear friend. She always had a bright smile and a warm hug when we would arrive after a long journey. I loved our long talks and laughing together over tea or out on errands. I was among those buoyed up by her brave encouraging spirit. Her conversation reflected her Lord Jesus and gently pointed others towards Him.
Transforming fear into courage describes Sharon very well. That courage was sewn into every quilt and it grew with her spring flowers — she embraced every opportunity she had to love. I am blessed and thank God to call her my friend.
Our prayers are with you and your family !
Aunt Shari, I have been at a loss for words. I can’t believe the last two summers were the last time we would all be together. I believe it was a gift from God that we had that time. You and Uncle Dave have always held a special place in my heart. My memories go all the back to early childhood. Visits in Paducah at Grandma and Grandpa’s, Black Mountain, Greensboro mall shopping trips, Memphis and visiting Graceland, Parrish Ave visits, Asheville-Biltmore trips, and our most recent visits. I cherish the moments getting ready together in the bathroom, putting on our makeup, giggling like two high school girls. I appreciated your help on my wedding day. You were always so good with the little details. I am so thankful that I have a few keepsakes and the wonderful quilts you made for me and my kiddos. Quilts we will treasure forever. Decades ago you sent me the devotion, Streams in the Desert. I have read it at least 3 times. It has helped me through some of the toughest times in my life. Thank you doesn’t seem like enough. I miss you. I love you and Dave always. I know you are finally healed and no more sickness. I am sure you are enjoying the beauty and gardens in Heaven. Till I see you again, xoxo-Shayla
