Mary Lee Foster Gaddy, 92, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at her home. A life-long resident of Candler, she was born to the late Junius and Elva May Foster in 1933. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Bill, Junius, and Calvin Foster; sister, Betty Foster-Ward; and son, Larry Gaddy.

She is survived by her son Steve Gaddy (Donna); daughter-in-law, Sharon Gaddy; grandson, Bradley Gaddy (Sarah); granddaughter, Stacy Orrell (Ed); sister, Ellen Davis; and great-grandchildren, Riley Gaddy, Cadence Orrell, Whitney Orrell, Camden Orrell, Willow Gaddy, and Ellie Gaddy.

A special thanks to Larry and Sharon Gaddy for taking care of Mama these past few years. They did it with love and respect.

A memorial service for Mrs. Gaddy will be planned at a later date. Burial will be private. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.

  6. This wonderful, GODLY woman, lead me to the Lord when I was 8 years of age, at Mt. Pisgah Bapt. Church. I’ve known her for 60 years and she’s been a friend to me and my family since. She will be so missed. Prayers and condolences to the family.

    • She was a great Lady, and always had a sweet smile. I will never forget how she touch me and my family. I grew up going to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church as a small child she was always teaching, and showing God’s ways. Rest and have peace with your missed love ones in heaven.

  7. I have always Loved Mary Lee every since i was small. Went to church with the family at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. We had some good times at church. She will be missed. Prayers to the family.
