Asheville Butterfly TrailArden- Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Knight, 85, of Arden, died Sunday, January 18, 2026 at her residence.
A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Mary Morrison Hayes. Cindy was also preceded in death by her husband, Frederick Gordon Knight, Sr.; a son, Frederick Gordon “Sonny” Knight, II and a brother, Harvey Hayes.
Cindy is survived by two sons, Chris Knight and Shelby Knight, both of Arden; a sister, Pat Banks of Hendersonville as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, January 22, 2026 at Shepherd Memorial Park.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.

Birthday cards, gardening tips, recipes and lots of love all come to mind when I think of Aunt Cindy. But above everything was her love for GOD and we all knew it. I am sad like everyone but I know she is exactly where she is supposed to be. I know she is smiling and rejoicing because she is home with GOD. ❤️
