Connie Genell Grant, 71, of Asheville, NC passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025.
Born April 14, 1954 in Frederick, MD, Connie was a daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison Grant and Arnetta Henson Grant. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Jones, and brothers, Michael Grant and Tim Grant.
Surviving are her sisters, Tina Sherlin and Becky Ducker; brother, Tommy Grant; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 12 in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Reverend Tony Hooper officiating. Burial will follow at the New Morgan Hill Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service on Monday, beginning at 12:00 p.m.

So sorry to hear of the passing of our dear friend of WABC, our thoughts & prayers are with the family.

I would run into you while you was working in Ingles & you would tell me smile God’s got you ! I’ve seen you in church when I’ve took Mom & I grew up with your sisters & bothers . Just know you were loved & will be missed love you my friend & Rest In Peace !!!

I went to church with Connie at West Asheville Baptist Church and she was a ray of sunshine. Always positive and always praising God. I know she’s in Heaven and I will see her again. You will be missed my friend.

Connie was a precious friend on my Facebook, we never met in person but we did in spirit, love and prayers. I treasured her so much as she love for others and God was so true, encouraging and heaven is sweeter today as I know I will meet her there when time shall be no more. Prayers to all of her family , hugs & peace from God.

We all at WABC loved Connie and her faithfulness to the church. Thom and I parked beside her every Sunday morning and she was always so sweet and kind! We will miss her, but we know she is in a much better place and that we will see her again.

Connie and I both worked at the same Ingle’s, and I just learned of her passing today. A very beautiful bouquet of yellow roses and a memorial frame are on display in her honor. Sympathy and prayers for peace to all of Connie’s family. God bless and keep each of you!
