Darlene Pressley

November 25, 1953 ~ December 9, 2024
Phyllis Darlene Allen Pressley, 71, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024.
Raised in Asheville, Darlene was one of seven children of the late Clarence and Virginia Mae Buckner Allen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers, and her grandson, Kairat Pressley.
A graduate of Clyde A. Erwin High School, Class of ’72, Darlene owned and operated her own cleaning company for many years. She had attended Hoopers Creek Baptist Church when her health allowed. She loved her church.
Darlene could brighten the darkest day with just a smile. She filled every heart with hope and joy, and she never met a stranger. Her love was abundant and knew no bounds. She loved her grandbabies unconditionally and enjoyed singing, walks on the beach, and digging for seashells.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Gary Pressley, Sr.; daughter, Amanda Warren (William); sons, Donald Gary Pressley, Jr. (Elizabeth Skye), and Daniel Pressley (Rebecca); sisters, Mary Roper-Whitt and Barbara Ingle; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. Mr. Buddy Harwood and Pastors Ronald Dotson and Phillip Youngblood will officiate. Burial will then take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hoopers Creek Baptist Church’s Disaster Relief Efforts, 71 Hoopers Creek Church Rd., Fletcher, NC 28732.

I will miss your calls! I know you and mom and dad are together! I love you!
We are so sorry to learn of Darlene’s passing and know that she will be terribly missed. The LORD of Glory gifted her with the ability to show great love and compassion for others, which no doubt allowed her to be such a soul winner for Him. Our deepest sympathy, thoughts of great comfort and prayers go out to Donald and the loving family, knowing it will only be but a short time until we see her again.

Peace and comfort go out to the family.
Only sweet memories of this lady all the way back to my childhood! Much of my years were spent in church worshipping with Dolly and I’m so thankful for the imprint she left on my heart. Prayers of peace and comfort for Donnie, Dooley, Daniel, Amanda, sisters, and the grandchildren.
R.I.P. my sister in CHRIST…..Enjoy worshipping with you & family……
Darlene and I were childhood friends and we played together at each others house all the time, then we met again when we both went to Erwin High School, then we lost touch, she was a special person and I know she will be greatly missed, my thoughts and prayers are with her and her family at this time.
Prayers for the Family 🙏🏻
Donnie & Family
So sorry to hear about the passing of Darlene. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. We will not be able to attend the services, Richard was just discharged from the hospital yesterday and in rehab to strengthen his legs and arms so we can go home, and I can’t leave him.
Remember Gods Grace is sufficient. Love you all
I will always remember Darlene and her amazing smile and laughter. She was an amazing light, one that now shines in heaven.
