Richard Joseph Buchanan

Paintsville, KY- Richard Joseph Buchanan, 71, originally from the Hooper’s Creek community in Fletcher, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 in Kentucky after a battle with pneumonia.

Richard was born September 28, 1953 in Asheville, NC to Marie Buckner Buchanan and Hampton Buchanan of Fletcher. Richard is survived by two brothers, DuWayne Buchanan of Polk County, NC and Bobby Buchanan, wife Debbie Buchanan of Robbinsville, NC. He also had nieces and nephews, Tia Riddle, Nakia Buchanan, Ashley Brown and Jeremiah Buchanan and a host of cousins.

A Celebration of Richard’s life will be announced at a later date.
