Martha Florine Bell Addison, 94, of Asheville, NC passed away on Wednesday, January, 17, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles C. Bell and Mary Edith Brown Bell, her 6 siblings, and her beloved husband of 60 years, Harold Addison (Des).
She is survived by her son, David Addison (Karen) and their daughter, Lauren of Bentonville, AR; daughters, Diane Bryson (Mac) and their children Adam, Andrew, and Amy of Marietta, SC, and Donna Keebler (Stephen) of Wilmington, NC; and four great grandchildren.
Martha was an exemplary wife and mother to her family. She took pride in being a housewife and homemaker, creating a loving and inviting home for those she loved. She enjoyed baking and cooking and has passed down recipes for generations to enjoy. Her smile, love, and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service is scheduled for Tuesday January 23 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Groce Funeral Home on Tunnel Road. A private burial will follow in the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

My husband Tom and I were also married on June 11 (a few years after Martha and Des) so we had the privilege of sharing anniversary prayers and receiving Martha’s beautiful cards with her elegant handwriting. I always looked forward to enjoying what Martha would make for Westminster Presbyterian pot-luck meals. She embodied kindness and graciousness.
