Patricia Meehan Bennett, 94, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
An Asheville native, Patricia was the daughter of the late Richard Brinsley and Annie Ward Meehan. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Russell Bennett, who died in 2009; sisters, Mary Ann Geddert and Cameron Meehan; and brother, Richard Meehan, II.
Mrs. Bennett retired from the U.S. Forest Service. Spending time in her greenhouse and yard were her favorite pastime. She was also a member of St. Eugene Catholic Church.
Mrs. Bennett is survived by her daughters, Mary Morrow (Mike), Tricia Summitt (Mark), Betty Abshire and Laurie Ferrell (Greg); grandchildren, Nicholas (Lynnsy) and Matthew (Rachael) Summitt, Jordan, Jackson, Ashley and Lauren Morrow, Corey and Amy Abshire and Bennett and Maddie Wolf; and four great-grandchildren.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Eugene Catholic Church on Monday, November 6, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Lewis Memorial Park.
Her family will receive friends at the church prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Eugene Catholic Church, 72 Culvern St., Asheville, NC 28804.

I am saddened to hear of the passing of my friend and former coworker. Pat and I worked many years together for the US forest Service until her retirement. She was the master baker of sugar cookies and would bake them and bring them to the office on holidays. She was truly the best. My sincere sympathy to the family.
