Dixie W. McGraw

Dixie W. McGraw of Asheville, North Carolina passed away peacefully on September 27. She was 96 years old.

She was a native of Warner Robins, Georgia and a resident of Huntsville, Alabama and Asheville, North Carolina for the last several years of her life. Dixie was a devoted stay-at-home mother to her six children. She was an avid golfer and loved all games, especially bridge. Dixie was known for her love of travel and social occasions as well as her devotion to family. As an Air Force officer’s wife, she moved around frequently, creating a home for her family at each new location.

Survivors include her beloved children: her son Christopher, and her daughters, Susan, Joan, Tricia and Deborah. She was predeceased by her daughter, Janie, her husband, Clint and her brother Billy and sister-in-law Ruby Joyce Wilson.
Dixie was the proud grandmother of 9 grandchildren: Kelly, Christopher, Jennifer, Michelle, Evan, Rachel, Mathew, Brian and Erin and 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Alice Wilson, who reside in Atlanta.

She will be buried at a graveside service with her family at her side in Arlington National Cemetery.
