Billy Carroll Webb, 80, passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, after a prolonged illness.

A native of Madison County, Billy grew up working on his family’s dairy and tobacco farms. He later turned his love of automobiles into a career, retiring as a Master Volkswagen mechanic.

Billy was the son of the late Joseph and Stella Gaddy Webb. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Gentry Webb, and several siblings.

He is survived by his daughter, Tina Bradley (Kevin), of Clyde; sons, Joey Webb (Mary), of Leicester, and Brian Webb, of Candler; sister, Linda McMahan, of Swannanoa; brothers, Larry Webb and Roger Webb, of Leicester; ten grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Billy’s family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 9, at Groce Funeral Home, 1401 Patton Ave., Asheville. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ronald Dodson and the Rev. Chad Edwards officiating. Burial will then take place at Refuge Cemetery, Alexander, NC.

The family would like to share their sincere thanks to Josh and Roxanne, the visiting nurses from Hospice who demonstrated love and kindness for Billy at home throughout his illness. Family members also express their special appreciation to the staff at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center in Asheville for their dedication to comfort and care during Billy’s final days.
