Ray Douglas Sluder, 86, passed away Friday, February 3, 2023.
Mr. Sluder was born November 30, 1935 to the late Clayton and Frances Rhymer Sluder and was also preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Turner Sluder, brothers, Raymond Sluder, Conley Sluder, Ellis Sluder and Bill Sluder and sisters, Helen Clark and Louise Calhoun.
He was the owner and operator of Sluder Sawmill for many years and was a kind and appreciative friend to many people. E loved to grow a big garden and enjoyed giving it all away.
The family expresses appreciation to the staff workers in the assisted living department of the Baptist Retirement Home for the wonderful care given to him the past five years.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Mountain View Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery, Alexander.

Uncle Ray had such a kind heart. He was one of the best. I will surely miss our visits with him. He was always so happy to see us and never failed to let us know how much he loved us. I love you Uncle Ray.
