Martha Anne Martin, 77, passed away unexpectedly Friday, December 30, 2022.
Martha was a member of Trinity Baptist Church for the past 25 years where she was active in the choir. She worked at Asheville Head Neck & Ear for over 30 years and for Mountain Area Ear Nose and Throat for over 12 years. She retired in 2014. She had worked at Ingles on Sand Hill Road for the past four years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Flora Pearson, her aunt Virginia McDowell, her daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Kenneth Davis and her son-in-law Mark Elam.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Marcus Martin, Jr., daughters, Kimberly Martin Elam of Asheville and Karen Marcella Martin of Sylva, and adopted daughter Terry Stiles. The light of her life were her three grandsons and their wives, Justin West of Marshall, Jason and Amanda West of Canton and Jared and Brittany West of Columbus, GA. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Claire, Colton, Brayden, Hank, Cole, Everlee and Reese West and adopted great-grandchildren, Kaylynn and Hayden Luker.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 7, at Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. Ralph Sexton, Jr., and Pastors Winston Parrish, Doug Guy and Allen Rash officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

  7. Junior, Kim and Karen, so sorry to hear of Martha’ s passing. Heaven sure did gain another beautiful songbird! I will always remember Martha for her beautiful voice and her laughter. I will cherish all my childhood memories made at your house, church and the many outings we had in wonderful fellowship to Carowinds etc… Although I know your hearts are broken, I pray God will give you much comfort in knowing she is with our precious Lord and Savior and will be waiting for the day you all are reunited once again.   13. I shop at Ingles where ms Martha worked!. There was never a time I went through Martha’s line that she didn’t greet me with a warm “How’s Ms Robin?” I will miss you sweet Martha! You were a bright light in this world!!! ♥️♥️♥️

    Phil and I are sorry to learn of Martha Ann’s passing we loved her and she and Phil became such great friends at ingles since I have been sick Phil said she never failed to ask how I was I have known her got a long time since my Austin family lived in the cove know you are in our thoughts and prayers
