Asheville Butterfly TrailKaren Penland Hare, 58, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Mission Hospital.
Mrs. Hare was born in Asheville, NC to the late James Clay Penland and Patricia Penley Ramsey. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Gainey Hare; a sister, Barbara Jane Penland and a brother, Phil Penland.
Karen was a kind and giving person. She was a member of Hendersonville Seventh Day Adventist Church. She loved her dogs, walking, and feeding the wildlife near their home. She was a dedicated employee and she loved her family well.
She is survived by her husband, Mitchell “Mickey” Baldwin; three children, Cody Levi Bunting, Dekotah Sky Bravo and Jaxon Liam Baldwin; a brother, James Penland; two sisters, Tonya Heatherly (Woody) and Sharon Robinson and two grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Arden with Pastor Charles Ferguson officiating.

So very, very sorry to hear about Karen. Praying for the family.
So very sad to hear about Karen’s passing! She was a wonderful person who cared for all, and animals of all kinds. I had the pleasure of knowing her during her time at Manual Woodworkers & Weavers in Hendersonville. She was always on the side of justice and right, looking out for others. I know she will be greatly missed by her family.
