Barbara Sluder Alexander, 88, passed away Friday, September 30, 2022, at the Western North Carolina Baptist Retirement Home.
Mrs. Alexander was born July 14, 1934, in Asheville, to the late Burgin L. Sluder and Frances Sluder Sprinkle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ward Alexander and her brother, Ed Sluder. She was a member of Elk Mountain Baptist Church where she played the piano since she was eight years old.
She is survived by two daughters, Beverly A. Honeycutt (Steve) and Sharon Hollifield (Robert); grandchildren, Michelle Bradley (Chad) and Kelli Martin (Ben), great-grandchildren, Jocelynn (Isaac), Alexa, Jake and Brody, and sister-in-law, Jean Sluder.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2022, at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
A graveside service will be conducted by the Revs. Steve Honeycutt and Bradley Collins at 1:00p.m. Monday at Pisgah View Memorial Park.
The family will be gathering at Sharon’s house, in the days leading up to the service.

Aunt Barbara was very special to us. She will be missed very much. Family get togethers will not be the same. Our heart goes out to her Beverly, Sharon and the grandchildren.
Sharon, I am SO sorry about the death of ur mother.Things are never the same when mother is gone. I pray GOD will comfort u & ur family, during these sad days ahead.
