January 3, 1941 ~ September 22, 2022
Born in:
Paragould, Arkansas
Resided in:
Asheville, NC
Max Clubb passed away at the VA hospital, September 22, 2022 surrounded by his high school sweetheart and loving children. Max was born January 3, 1941 in Walcott Arkansas. He met his wife, Ernestine at Oak Grove High School in Paragould, Arkansas. After high school Max joined the Navy. He was immensely proud of his time in the “gator navy” during the Vietnam War where he would transport Marines and Navy SEALs to and from landing zones. Max and family moved to Asheville, North Carolina in 1971 due to his instrumental role in starting RCA’s antenna manufacturing facility in Swannanoa. He worked as a design engineer for RCA and as Director of Research and Development of Engineering for Tandy Corporation (Radio Shack). During his tenure with RCA and Tandy Corporation Max held several patents on antenna designs. Max was a proud and faithful member of Biltmore church of Christ for over 40 years where he also served as a Deacon. Nothing can compare to the love Max had for the Lord and his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the light of his life and he the light of theirs.
Max is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Serene Clubb, and his brothers Bill, Tommy, and Curtis Clubb. He is survived by his wife, Ernestine Austin Clubb, his daughter Pam (Dwayne) Clubb Maxell and son Tim (Lisa) Clubb. His Grandchildren, Amber (Glenn) Alford, Tiffany (Ben) Canada, Michael (Alexandra) Carter, Katelyn and Brady Clubb, his great-grandchildren Miles and Lilly Alford, Grace and Rhett Carter. He is also survived by a brother, Carl Clubb (Dianna) of Silva, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers please send donations in honor of Max Clubb to the Wounded Warriors Project.

You will be missed Uncle Max. I Love you!
Keep rooting on those Razorbacks!
I have so many wonderful memories of Max when I was growing up and through my adult life. He and my dad were great friends and I cherish the time or families shared together. I pray God’s blessings of peace on Ernestine, Pam, and Tim. Take comfort that we will see him again.
Maxine and family. So sorry to see this obit for Max. He was a loving, kind caring man and I’m sure you will miss him. Praying for all of you during this time of grief.
It is truly an honor to have known this wonderful, caring man. He lived a full life, and can stand before our Lord with complete confidence!
Always enjoyed visiting with cousin Max and laughing about times from long ago. May God’s peace and comfort be with Ernestine, Pam, Tim and their families. We look forward to the promise of Rev: 21, 3-5. Larry & Leah Clubb
life has changed here but the truth is now enjoyed for eternity for Max
He was always kind and also fun to be around! He made me feel important and I am grateful to have had him be part of my special family.
Max was such a strong foundation at Biltmore. His sense of humor was always a positive trait. When our daughter Meg was little she was so upset with me when I would not let her go home with Betty Bickford after church. For years afterward he would always remind Meg of that situation and make her laugh. Max will be missed. Peace to the whole Clubb family.
Thoughts and prayers with his wife, Ernestine and family.
So sorry for your loss. Max was a great guy and I always enjoyed being around him.
Thoughts and prayers.
