James ‘Steve’ Steven Roberts, 70, went unexpectedly to be with his heavenly father on September 21, 2021. Steve, as all knew him, was a devoted Christian, was humble and had a servant’s heart for the Lord. He loved his family and friends. In addition, Steve as an avid animal lover, often took in stray cats and dogs.
Steve, after high school, served in the United States Air Force and had an immense love for our country. After the Air Force he worked at Georgia Pacific until he retired.
While working, Steve joined Erwin Hills Baptist Church and became Deacon and a devoted member to serve God and the community. He was kind to everyone he met. He was soft spoken and known even as young boy to have a gentle spirit. All that knew Steve could not help but like him. Steve loved to read and help others. He is missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.
Steve is survived by his sister, Karen Roberts Watts of Highland Village, TX and husband Richard Watts; brother, Gary Roberts of Hendersonville; nephew, Thomas Watts and wife Shana Watts of Plano, TX; niece, Kimberly Gentry and husband Jerry Gentry of Trenton, TX; and great nieces Lily Gentry, Lauren Cannon and Kaylee Watts.
Steve is preceded in death by his brother, Stanley Allen Roberts, father, James Harrison Roberts, and mother, Lillie Mae Smith Roberts.
