Fairview- Deborah “Debbie” Davis Landers, 68, passed away unexpectedly at her home, August 18, 2021. Born in Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Cleone Davis. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Becky Rice.

Debbie graduated from Hendersonville High School and East Carolina University. She lived most of her adult life in the Asheville area although she had recently relocated to her happy place on the lake in Florida. She retired from Tryon Distributing-Asheville, after 21 years of service. Debbie was known and respected throughout her career for her hard work, energetic personality, and loyalty. Customers became lifelong friends. Generous and compassionate, Debbie was always the first to lend a hand to someone in need. Her welcome mat was always out. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Debbie’s pride and joy was her family. She loved to read on her porch, watch the birds from her bedroom, and was a dedicated fan of Duke University Men’s Basketball. Her zest for life was unequaled. Chuck and Debbie traveled extensively, they enjoyed some of the finest wines in the world and embraced each moment together. Debbie always made time for what was important to her. She cherished every minute with her grandchildren, they were the light of her life.

  7. Sweet, sweet friend. I worked with Debbie for 15 years. She was dedicated, dependable, smart and driven.
I was stunned to see this. She and Chuck lunched with us and visited at our house about a year ago, and we had planned many more visits in the future. Thoughts and prayer for Chuck and the family.

  8. Debbie –

  13. Debbie is a dear, life-long friend whom I first met in college at ECU. We both served on the Cheerleader squad at ECU. Some of the adventures we shared are legendary, and the memories will last through the ages. I most remember Debbie’s glowing smile and vibrant personality. It was with her throughout her days. Debbie lives on in the hearts of her family & friends.

  14. Her light shone so bright in a far too often dim world. She is loved and cherished by all who know her.

  15. I join the many prayer warriors who are daily praying for her family. Each of us have broken hearts and rest in the confidence of God’s grace mercy. She never had an enemy and never met a stranger…she embodied the humility of her Savior, and was an example of one who followed Christ. May His peace rest with Chuck and her family and many friends. Thank you for sharing her life with each of us. We will await that glad heavenly reunion when all of the Saints will be reunited and stand before His presence…I can only imagine….Philippians 1:21

  16. I met Debbie back in the 2000 when my daughter and Ali were in school together. They became the best of friends. This is a great loss in so many lives. My daughter loved Debbie as a second mother. She and Ali are so very close and would bring the babies to play together. It has been some time since I spoke to Debbie and was so shocked over her passing.
My condolences to Chuck and Ali and family. Please know your in my prayers and if you need anything please let me or Krista know.

  17. Don and I are deeply sorry for your loss. Seeing Debbie at the Fairview Post Office or the Food Lion would always brighten our day. With a smile, she could make our day better.

  18. We have so many fond memories of all the “Davis Girls” from high school. Each & every one of your family are in our thoughts & prayers that God’s tender arms will embrace you & give you peace. Debbie was a wonderful lady.

  19. A friend who had a big impact on my life. Always caring and supportive. My heart aches for Chuck, Ali and Chase.

  20. Debbie was a great human being. She left way too soon. My thoughts and prayers with Chuck and rest of family and friends.

  21. I’ve been at a complete loss to properly express my shock and grief. I am so grateful Debbie and Chuck made time to visit us in Oklahoma on their way across country. Instantly, we began making plans to visit and travel together in retirement. Sadly, sometimes, we make our plans and the winds of fortune sweep them away in a manner that seems so capricious and cruel. Life is fragile. Literally, by God’s grace I hope, someday, to see Chuck and Debbie together again. Until then, I pray He showers his love and comfort over her entire family. Goodbye, for now.

  22. I knew Debbie and the whole Davis family growing up on Chadwick, spending time at the house on Balsam, and of course at Hendersonville High. I remember her smile, her cheerful nature, and her wonderful personality. I send my deepest sympathy on your loss.

  23. Paul and I send our deepest condolences to Chuck and the family during this sad time. We will always miss running into Debbie and having the best conversations, either at friends homes or at the grocery store. Debbie was a beautiful person and a delight to know.

  24. Dwight and I send our deepest sympathy for your families loss.
Debbie was always smiling and a great encouragement to Amber most recently!
I remember how she and I took Amber and Alli all over the place, shopping and cheerleading many years ago!
As you well know, she will be missed by many on this earth!
We will be in Oregon during her memorial but our thoughts and prayers will be with Chuck, Allison, Chase and all the family, especially the grands!

  25. Debbie was a beautiful soul with a smile that lit up the room. She loved every one, but especially Chuck and her family. I am so sorry, and I am sending much love, thoughts, and prayers to you all.

  26. Debbie and I went to high school together, cheered together, and roomed together at ECU. I’m still in shock about her death and so wish that I could have attended her memorial service. What a beautiful light in the world she was. What a wonderful mother and wife she was to Chuck. I will never forget them running through the Atlanta airport to catch their honeymoon flight. I’m so thankful to have these memories and will miss her.
