We will miss Doris as a tennis player and one of our favorite people. Doris was so fun to be with and always had a way of making you in a good mood. We will miss her and her smile.

Doris was my neighbor, when I lived at Crowfields in Asheville. I considered her, a good, friend, and a fine person. She will be missed.
I know Doris from our Red Hat lunches. We had many, many, great lunches, lots of laughs & good times to remember. She will be missed.
Jane, David and Mark,
I am sorry to hear of your mother’s death. Doris was my first cousin and we wrote to each other a few times in recent years. I met her when she visited our homeplace in Cormeen, Ballyjamesduff in Ireland with her sister Ruth many years ago. Our cousin Jane Donoghue emailed me with the sad news. I send you all my sincere condolences.
Dear Jane, David and Mark,
I was so saddened to learn about your Mom. She was a great neighbor and friend. She will be greatly missed.

I enjoyed being Doris’s friend, neighbor, tennis partner, and Bridge pal over many years. She was a very special person.

Doris was such a special person. I enjoyed several years of tennis and Bridge with her, and in recent years having her as my neighbor.

Doris was a dear friend during our teenage and young adult years in Boston. She was intelligent, kind and beautiful. I have so many happy memories of her. I spent a lot of time at her house and was very fond of her parents, Richard and Nora, two wonderful people, who always made me feel welcome and usually had a joke. Her sister Ruth was lovely.
I’m so glad I had a chance to visit Doris in Asheville in July 2019. She hadn’t changed over the years — about 58! — and was still the beautiful friend I knew in our youth. She told me how happy she was for her children and how good they were to her. Mark, Jane and David, I am deeply sorry for your loss.

Doris was my father Ralph Emerson Kickham’s first cousin. I was just googling Doris’s name and came upon her obituary. I think of my Uncle Dick,Doris’s Dad very fondly. I often look up my late father’s family. Not sure why I never found this before.
