Douglas Heath Rogers, 42, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at his residence.

Heath was born in Kingsport, TN. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, “Pap” Darnell; grandparents, James and Blanche Rogers and his father, Don Rogers.

Heath was a 1997 graduate of T.C. Roberson High School. He was known and loved in the community as a little league and travel ball baseball coach. He loved all sports and especially his Duke Basketball.

He is survived by his wife, Jenny Rogers; mother and father, Della Darnell Rogers and Lonney Ensign; a son, Kellan Rogers; a brother, Cade Rogers; grandmother, Ada Darnell; loving uncle, Buddy Darnell and his beloved dog, Luna and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Shawna Darnall officiating. The family will gather with friends and family shortly before and then following the service at the funeral home. Masks are required to attend and attendees understand the risks of Covid 19.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heath’s son, Kellan Rogers College Fund and can be found at T.D. Bank under the name, Jennifer Rogers.

  3. I’m so sorry for your loss. Praying the God of all comfort helps you at this difficult time. (2Corinthians 1:3,4 & Psalms 83:18). Jesus told us to pray for God’s Kingdom because the Bible promises it will do away with death. (Revelation 21:4 & Daniel 2:44).
