Sylvia Imogene Hawkins Bennett, 82, passed away Monday, January 25, 2021, at Flesher’s Fairview HCC.

Mrs. Bennett was born September 15, 1938, to the late Winifred H. and Fannie B. Parton Hawkins. She was also preceded in death by siblings Gene, Tom and Bobby Hawkins. Mrs. Bennett was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Tracey Lockhart and husband, Ricky, of Asheville; granddaughter, Heather Ammons of Kansas City, KS; siblings, Ruth Walston, Betty Sampson and Micky Hawkins; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of Flesher’s HealthCare Center for the loving care they provided for the last eight years.

  5. Tracey, I am so sorry for the loss of your precious Mama. I have many happy memories of her at our church breakfasts passing out sweet smiles, encouragement and chocolate! Your mother was such a sweet lady. Love and prayers for you and all who knew and loved Sylvia.
