Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I wii always remember Barbara’s smile. She was a lady who served with integrity and professionalism. I enjoyed working with for several years at ASB. Prayers for the family.

  2. Sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. Thoughts are with you and your family. Carolyn and Jerry Slaughter

  3. Holly, Laura, and Family,

I am so sorry to read of your Mom’s passing. Ironically, Bobby and I were just wondering this past weekend how she was doing, unaware that she was ill. We were thinking about how 2013 was a terrible year but 2020 was shaping up to be almost as bad. My love, thoughts, and prayers are with you all during these trying times.

  4. Barbara was the consummate professional during her long tenure with Asheville Savings Bank and I was privileged to work with her. She possessed an unwavering sense of style and professionalism that was always accompanied by a large dose of kindness. I know how sad it is for the family to say good-bye to such a lovely woman and my prayer for all of you is that your many loving memories of Barbara will lift you up and bring you peace.

  5. Mrs. Sisk was, first, and foremost, a kind, gentle lady. I’m grateful to have known and worked with her for over ten years at Asheville Savings Bank. She was always warm, positive, and helpful. My condolences and wishes for Peace to those who are family members and those who loved and cared for this wonderful woman.

  6. I am so saddened by Barbara’s passing. She is now with “her man”…I can mentally picture this. I remember Barbara talking so lovingly of Bob and she loved to show me his picture when I visited. They were meant for each other. I really loved Bob and Barabara…we had a great relationship over many years. Holly, I also really enjoyed and looked forward to our lunches at Tupelo Honey. She always met me with a big smile and hug. She also never failed to ask about my family including asking to see pictures and then she “lit up” telling me about your family. I am glad I was able to call both dear friends. Your family is in my prayers.

    Love, Bill Bowman

  7. Dear Doug and Holly,
We are so very sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing, though very thankful it was so peaceful. Please know we will keep you on our hearts and in our prayers.
    Bill and Ginny Pierson

  8. I worked beside Barb at Asheville Federal back in the mid-60’s. She was instrumental in encouraging me to look into adopting a child since she and Bob were so happy with their two girls. Our son is now 51 and I will be forever grateful to her. It was a joy to work with her.
